In support of our commitment to the good health and well being of our employees, we have partnered with MOD Solution® for over three years. During that time, we have found the services provided by MOD Solution® to be of the highest quality.

We subscribe to the MOD Solution® belief in an Intervention Evaluation when an employee reports discomfort at the work site. The MOD Solution® method of intervention includes assessment of the whole person as well as the work site, and leads employees to a new understanding of the relationships involved in parts of the body, posture and movement, work environment, and general wellbeing. These methods of intervention have brought our employees to a stronger and healthier physical stage in their lives, with measurable benefits to both our employees and our company.

The MOD Solution® emphasis on educating employees on anatomy with the DVD, “Back Anatomy for the Worker,” has helped our employees understand their own physical strengths/weaknesses, and to “buy-in” to participation in our safety program. This employee understanding of overall physical condition has become the key to the success of our Injury Prevention Program. These interventions enable the employee to see how each ligament, joint and muscle works in conjunction with other parts of the body. Armed with this knowledge, the employee can begin the prescribed MOD Solution® exercise and therapy regimen understanding why he/she is doing certain movements and how they relate to the healing process.

Subsequent employee reporting has also helped our administration team be able to offer modified or alternative work as needed that is relevant to our work, and not force us to simply accommodate standard release orders as we have in the past. This has been a clear cost benefit to all concerned.

We have learned from the feedback of our employees that when they have completed their healing through a prescribed regimen, they have come away with subsequent work practices and exercise routines that support injury prevention and better health. The MOD Solution® System has convinced us that there is more to injury prevention than just proper personal protective equipment.

We applaud MOD Solution® for its ability to bring our workforce, both drivers and management, to a new level of overall understanding of the factors that prevent injuries and for our continuing on-the-job program that enables us to improve our safety record, year after year.

Bruning State Bank is located in rural South Central Nebraska. Employees range in age from mid 20's to upper 70's. I am one of the vice presidents of this bank, as well as the safety officer.

We had noticed a number of employees complaining about neck and back pains, with several making weekly or more frequent visits to a chiropractor. Others were seeing a medical doctor for prescription pain relief. We were starting to lose productivity due to absenteeism during the workweek for medical reasons. We discussed the problem with our board of directors and management, and decided to employ the services of an occupational therapist to evaluate our workers.

Prior to working with the MOD Solution® System, I had worked with a physical therapist, who did not address the cause of my ongoing back problems, but just provided therapy. When MOD Solution® System became available at my worksite, I was advised of a number of ways I could avoid risk of injury or pain. Cathleen Amwake from MOD Solution® recommended to my employer—and my employer provided—a new ergonomically-correct chair, keyboard, and other devices which would improve my posture while working at the computer. I also was given a set of strengthening exercises to address my specific problem. Most importantly, my specific problem has not re-occurred since these changes were addressed.

As administrator of an acute care and long term facility, I needed a system in place to educate the present and future staff ergonomically for their safety, as well as our safety as an institution. I had dealt with injuries in the workplace and saw this as a situation that needed improvement, beginning with the hiring process.

Cathleen Amwake, OTR/L, and her company, MOD Solution®, were hired for this job. Cathleen began with work station evaluations and recommendations for all our employees. Suggestions were given, supplies were purchased and future injury problems were avoided.
